Amanda Irwin, CSWA
I believe there are mysteries to somatic, psychic, and mental experiences that are a lifelong study. Your symptoms make sense and in some way protect you from pain. But they often cause suffering. My wish for you is through a non judging, attuned, curious, and loving presence- you will feel comfortable to explore yourself, your story, and find an authentic, peaceful, easeful expression of life. I offer a uniquely soft but analytic approach. Difficult feelings, anxiety, depression, trauma, and intergenerational burdens can be part of the human narrative but I can help clients find resonance and meaning that shifts their experience.

About Me:

I am a creative problem solver and visionary- utilizing client strength, interest, and context in my approach with them. I believe we have an authentic core- when we walk in alignment with that core- life is transforming. I utilize IFS, emotion focused approaches, experiential, and somatic approaches while addressing the narratives/cognitions/ and stories that keep us limited.
I offer identity affirming, somatic, emotionally focused and experiential approaches as well as parts work- to help us both understand what makes you, you. I am deeply curious about all the aspects of who you are and won’t turn away from any of it.
My ideal client is curious about their inner workings and open to exploration. We utilize collaboration, creativity, client strength, and ask deep questions in a supportive and emotionally attuned space.
Eventually through curiosity, trust, and loving presence we can get to the core of feelings, defences, and fear and find the authentic self. Through feeling core feelings, behavioral understanding, cognitive/narrative restructuring and an attuned safe therapeutic presence, my ideal client can begin to see how to transform their life.
Ideally also they have artistc and spiritual interest or are open to exploring this aspect of themselves. Ideally I work with people who think differently, are neurodivergent, feel like an outcast somehow, and are working through grief, intergenerational trauma, and attachment trauma.
